This set consists of Five Alchemically prepared Watercolour half pans in a hand-crafted wooden box.

The set contains a half pan of Cobalt Teal, Antwerp Blue, Cobalt Pink, Manganese Violet and Cobalt Mint Green.

-Cobalt Teal-

This beautiful blue green Cobalt Teal is an incredibly vibrant colour that just glows with an intense turquoise / teal hue.

The composition of this pigment gives it a vibrant and intense colour with a soft but heavy body when mixed with mediums.

This pigments exact hue is unique to the Alchemical Arts, you wont find this colour as a pure single pigment anywhere else.

-Antwerp Blue-

Antwerp Blue is a historic 17th century pigment. The pigment is a softer more opaque version of Prussian Blue. The addition of Blanc Fixe gives the pigment more body and makes for easier working properties than pure that of pure Prussian Blue.

You will find the pigment to be a very rich and strong navy blue, which combines well with yellows to make very rich greens.

The pigment has been hand crafted using traditional 17th century methods.

-Cobalt Pink-

This gentle and sweet blossom pink ranges from warm fuchsia tones to soft pastel pinks, it is lightly granulating, transparent and has a medium tinting strength.

The pigment for this watercolour pan is a handcrafted Cobalt Phosphate that is prepared in small batches using traditional production methods.

-Cobalt Titanium Green-

This retro styled mint green is made from a Cobalt Titanium Oxide pigment which is a one of a kind pigment unique to The Alchemical Arts.

This is an opaque minty green pigment with very strong covering power, moderate tinting strength and provides a very smooth, vibrant and flat colour. The colour of this paint is very reminiscent of retro enamelware and is strongly inspired by the colour palettes of the mid 20th century.

-Manganese Violet-

This beautiful deep violet pigment has a wonderfully rich royal purple tone.

The transparency of the pigment lends its self well to use in watercolours.

 

The paints come in a wooden travel case that has been hand-crafted from reclaimed and recycled timbers, due to the recycled nature of the timbers each batch of boxes utilises different wood choices, ranging from Tasmanian oak, Ash, Mahogany and Cedar. The boxes are cloth hinged and fixed with a strong magnet and are perfect for traveling.

Each pigment is hand crafted and prepared in small batches using a mixture of historic and contemporary techniques:

| The resulting pigments are ground with a binder consisting of the finest Gum Arabic, Organic Honey, Glycerin and Water.

| This is then poured into half pans over the course of 2-3 weeks, the resulting paint is a truly unique colour experience.

| The exclusive use of historic and traditional pigments results in a colour range that is very naturalistic, with each pigment having its own unique subtleties, richness, handling and optical qualities.
